How LastFolk billing works on Shopify
Last updated: August 16, 2026
LastFolk adds same-day local delivery by professional couriers (Uber Direct) to your Shopify store. You pay for two distinct things — the LastFolk service, and the courier who physically carries each order — and they are billed on two different rails on purpose. This page explains what appears where, so every charge on your Shopify invoice and on your card statement is traceable to an order.
1. What your customer pays at checkout
What your customer pays for delivery at checkout is part of your order and reaches you through your normal Shopify payout — LastFolk never touches it. LastFolk's charges to you (the service fee, and the courier cost on managed plans) are separate, and itemized per order in the Delivery panel.
2. What LastFolk bills through Shopify
Everything that is LastFolk revenue goes through the Shopify Billing API and appears on your Shopify invoice, approved by you on Shopify's own screens:
- Your subscription plan (monthly or annual), at the price shown on Shopify's approval page when you pick it.
- The per-delivery LastFolk service fee, billed as Shopify usage records against a monthly cap you approve in advance. The current fee and cap for each plan are shown in the app's plan selector and on the app listing.
- The multi-location add-on, if you enable it — dispatch from up to 10 store locations, available on every plan, billed as part of the same subscription line you approve.
None of these ever touch your card directly. If you cancel the subscription, they stop with it.
3. The courier cost — a pass-through, not a fee
Each delivery is physically carried by an Uber Direct courier, and that cost is charged at cost to the delivery card you save inside the app — the same way postage or a shipping label would be. On managed plans LastFolk never marks it up: the amount charged is the amount Uber quoted for that order, and LastFolk's own compensation is only the service fee in section 2, billed through Shopify.
You receive a receipt for every courier charge. The charge is authorized when the delivery is dispatched and captured once Uber reports the courier's final cost for that delivery, so the amount you pay is the real cost of the trip — an order that never dispatches is never charged.
On the Enterprise plan you connect your own Uber Direct account, so the courier bills you directly and LastFolk charges only the subscription.
4. Every order shows its own breakdown
The Delivery panel inside the app itemizes each order: the courier cost and the LastFolk fee, as separate lines, with the total that was charged. What you see there is what was billed — the same record the receipts and the Shopify invoice are built from.
5. Where to review your charges
- Subscription, service fees and add-ons: your Shopify invoice (Shopify admin → Settings → Billing).
- Courier costs: the per-charge receipts and your card statement, reconciled against the Delivery panel's per-order breakdown.
- Plan prices and current fee rates: the app's plan selector, the Shopify app listing, and lastfolk.com/pricing.
